Take your family Kite Flying in Long beach

Posted by Susan Moore No Comments »

When was the last time you went Kite Flying or visited Long Beach Washington?  It hasn’t changed much but it’s still a great way to have fun!

Anchored on Washington’s southwestern-most coast, the Long Beach Peninsula is rich in tradition, raw beauty, with loads of things to do, and only about 3 and a half hours drive from Newcastle.

Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, Columbia River and Willapa Bay, this favorite vacation destination is a refuge for people seeking the solace of a seaside retreat.

Get Wet at the Waterpark!

Posted by Susan Moore No Comments »

One of Newcastle residents’ favorite summer activities is  Henry Moses Aquatic Center  .  Just minutes down the hill in Renton this water park features eye-catching, 26-feet high orange and blue water slides, as well as two separate pools, a 9,000-square-foot leisure pool and a 3,300-square-foot, six-lane lap pool.

The leisure pool includes popular features such as a zero-depth entry, wave machine, water spray play area, lazy river, island lagoon, two water slides, a water play structure, toddler water area, and numerous spray features.

But hurry and check it out this weekend. It is open daily through Labor Day 2008.

Newcastle Golf Course

If you live in Newcastle, and even if you don’t, you’ve probably been to The Golf Club at Newcastle.  These beautiful photos are just a reminder to you to go back up before the summer is over and enjoy the eastside’s most famous view.   By the way, the Calcutta Grill has a fantastic happy hour M-F with mouthwatering appetizers (that are really a meal!) and drink specials too.

Yes, you can play here too!  It’s not a private course like many people think.  You can go up for just the the putting course, or hit a large bucket of balls at the driving range for only $10 before or after happy hour!
